Is CoachGrind basketball playbook software free?
Yes. CoachGrind is in beta testing with real coaches and is free for now. A free beta account includes one sport, chosen during setup. Paid subscriptions are planned and are not available to purchase.
What can I draw in the basketball set designer?
Cuts, dribbles, passes, screens, handoffs, and shots on a half or full court, in frames that carry each player from where the last action finished. Add court text, practice markers, and a defense, and mirror the whole set with one click.
Does it come with plays?
Yes. The beta includes a starter library of 75 sets organized by situation: against man, against zone, baseline and sideline out of bounds, after timeouts, and press break. Open any set, edit it, and save it as your own.
Can I export a basketball playbook PDF?
Yes. The Export Center prints selected sets as a playbook with full-page or every-frame layouts, and single frames export as SVG or PNG. Game plans and scouting reports also export as PDFs.
Can I use it on an iPad?
CoachGrind runs in your browser. The designers are built for a tablet or desktop and work with touch: draw lines with a finger or pencil, drag players, and delete a line from the button on the canvas. 3D playback depends on your device and browser.
Does the AI draw basketball sets?
AI is optional. When it is enabled for your workspace, it can draft a play from a description, review what you have drawn, and apply a requested change. Every manual drawing tool works without it, and you make the coaching decisions.
Is CourtVision film analysis?
No. CourtVision animates the set you drew so you can review movement, spacing, and timing in 3D. Video upload and AI film analysis are planned and are not available in the current beta.
